  1. Restaurant Vinyl Table Covers – Round – Oval

Comments Off on Restaurant Vinyl Table Covers – Round – Oval

Since 1958, we have manufactured vinyl table covers for commercial use.

Our best customers include restaurants, clubs, universities, event planners, caterers, and more.  Our customers select our heavy-duty vinyl table covers for their quality, selection of colors, and quick turn-around.Restaurant Vinyl Table Covers – Round – Oval

We are known for pioneering the fitted style of vinyl table cover because it looks the best when using such thick material. This fitted style of table cover completely transforms the tabletop surface, and many times restaurant owners opt for these instead of new tables.  Many of our customers select our regular drape-style table covers also.
Because the vinyl table covers are thick, they look great in a fitted style.  If you have a round or oval table (oblong in shape,) the fitted style table cover gives it a very clean, polished look.
Essentially, we cut the size of the table cover the same as the surface shape and size of your table, and then sew on a 5” drop on the sides. This looks particularly good on 60″ round tablecloths because unlike cloth fabric linens there is less bulky material in a guest’s lap.
We have written many times about how easy they are to care for, and how long-lasting and durable they are.  They simply are a top-of-the-line, high-quality flannel-backed vinyl table cover.  And our customers have been telling us this for more than 50 years!  Out here in California, we appreciate how little water is used to clean them, unlike traditional table linens.  Try White Supreme vinyl for a really great look instead of cloth table linens!)
When calling for a quote on vinyl table covers, let us know the shape (round, square, oval, etc.) and the size of your table.  We can help you figure out what size table cover you will need.
  2. 60 Years of Gary Manufacturing

Comments Off on 60 Years of Gary Manufacturing

Gary Manufacturing opened for business in 1958. Today, we do not know much about the original Gary of Gary Manufacturing, but we know that the original owner sold to Bob in the mid 1960’s.

After 20+ years of ownership Bob sold to current owners Brian and Helen Smith in April 1995. Brian and Helen have managed to turn a small factory with 9 employees into a 12,000-sq. ft. space with over 30 employees. I recently sat down with the owners and current general manager, Kerri Smith, yes… it is all in the family here, to discuss their time as owners and what they think of the 60-year milestone.

Brian is originally from England and Helen comes from Ireland, they met in Cape Town while both were traveling and later married and started their family in South Africa. After having the opportunity to own a plastics factory in South Africa in the 1970’s, Brian and Helen moved their family to America in 1981. Fourteen years of Brian working back and forth between San Diego and Seattle in the Aerospace industry, he found Gary Manufacturing was for sale. 1995 was a risky year for the Smith family, with offering up everything they have to purchase the business. Helen, wanting to insure some form of income, decided to stay in her Corporate America position for another 11 months, before making the leap to join the business in March 1996. One of the biggest challenges in the first couple years of ownership was transitioning the factory to a computer-based system. As with many companies in the early 90’s, computerization was fairly new as most work was hand written, including all receipts, invoices, orders, etc.

As with many small businesses, the landscape changes over the years. When taking over in 1995 the biggest items were aprons, table covers, and body bags. In her first year with the business, Helen managed to double the growth of the incontinence department, which accounts for a third of the business to this day.

After securing vendorship with major companies in the mid 2000’s, shower curtains started becoming a big seller for the business, it is now the best-selling product line. Most of the items come from a request, some trial and error and if successful, implemented going forward, the most surprising being our Coach Coordinates department. After a couple request for custom RV drapes, the company started a full line of drapes that have been very popular among many RV distributors and individuals across the country.

Because Gary offers so much in the way of custom products, it goes without saying that there have been many weird requests over the years, with Helen vividly remembering a request for body bags with a clear window to show the face. “That one will always stick out to me,” chuckled Helen. “I just can’t imagine wanting to view the face.” Turns out this was for a movie set.

Moving for the 3rd time to the current building in 2013 has been a favorite moment for both Brian and Helen. Mentioning the improvement of facilities and surrounding areas as a major plus. There have been low points over the years, but Brian and Helen maintained that a positive outlook is the key to success.

When asked what advice they would give 1995 Brian and Helen they both agree that it was a great move, and nothing beats hard work.

My final question was asking what the future holds for Gary Manufacturing, the business is 60 years old and still growing an average of 5% every year. Brian and Helen hope to eventually retire, but then what would they do? After owning Gary for 20+ years coming to work each day is just second nature for them and not something they plan on changing anytime soon. The future looks bright for Gary Manufacturing.

  3. Custom Printed Equipment Covers for Medical or IT/Technology Companies

Comments Off on Custom Printed Equipment Covers for Medical or IT/Technology Companies

We manufacture custom printed equipment covers for many firms in the medical or technology fields.

You may recognize some of the names below.Custom Printed Equipment Covers for Medical

The most successful projects are defined by how fast we can move to the market for our clients. Designing a custom cover can be very tricky, as in most of these cases the client would like a form-fitting cover and something that conveys the identity of the brand.

To get the best result, we always require the client to send a dummy/shell unit so we can get the best fit and the best outcome. It also cuts down on multiple iterations of sample design and production.   And in the case of Cook Medical, we created a design that would never have been conceived without the unit on hand.  Having a piece of dummy equipment is key!

What follows is a brief description of what kind of dust cover we manufacture for a few of our clients:

    1. Abbot Labs, (also known as AMO):

    •  Medium-sized vinyl (plastic) dust cover for the White Star machine.  It is manufactured in white vinyl film, and custom printed with the Abbot Labs 2-color logo.
    •  Larger-sized 420 denier white nylon dust cover for the Wavescan machine.  It has an embroidered logo on the outside.

    2. GenMark Diagnostics:

    • Medium-sized dust cover for the xxmslmfl machine.  It is manufactured in a silver 210 denier nylon, and custom printed with the GenMark Logo.

    3. Cook Medical:

    • Small vinyl dust cover for a medical laser system.  It’s made from anti-static vinyl.  In prototype development, there was no need for anti-static, but as soon as the cover was tested, it resulted in a few shock cases, so Cook opted to produce in anti-static.

    4. Pratt and Whitney:

    • Extra-large dust covers for the “Supermike”.  Manufactured in frosty clear vinyl in 4 different sizes for the same machine.

If your firm requires a cover for some of your product lines, please contact us, for a prototype and pricing. As you can see, our expertise and material selection can suit the needs of many different clients.  And the best part is all of these custom printed dust covers are manufactured here in the USA.

Small pleats on corners allow for wider girth in lower portion of cover, but still give fitted look at top.

  4. Equipment Covers for Commercial Use Made from Vinyl, Nylon or Polyester

We manufacture equipment covers for medical, industrial and commercial applications, made from vinyl, nylon or polyester.

    Equipment covers for commercial use

One such cover we recently made was for a client who manufactures wipes for make-up removal, or cleaning. They recently required some new covers for their material inventory.

The custom covers we made make it easier to cover the sleeves (rather than a large, cumbersome drop-cloth), have a good aesthetic value, but most importantly, prevent contamination in the storage environment and limit potential bacterial growth. The covers, or “sleeves “ as our client calls them, are used as a pattern in the production of hygienic wipes and overall cleanliness in the plant and equipment is an important factor.

For this application, we manufactured covers made from 300/600 denier nylon, which has a pvc (vinyl) coating on the inside. This coating prevents water and condensation from forming on the underside. It is also very durable and perfect for manufacturing environments. The covers are in the exact shape of their sleeves, which is a custom, fitted style. We were able to manufacture them because our client provided us with a drawing.

We manufacture all kinds of equipment and inventory dust covers. We recently did a project to cover safety rails, and a nylon custom cover for Black and Decker’s workroom.

Are you searching for stall width shower curtains?

A special size shower curtain that’s narrow, or extra wide?  Then look no further! We manufacture them.

    Stall width shower curtains

First, let’s cover the sizes of shower stall widths.  Remember, the width is the wall to wall dimension, (left to right.)  Here are several widths for stall shower openings:

    • 30”
    • 36”
    • 38”
    • 40”
    • 42”
    • 46”
    • 50”
    • 60”

Regardless of the width size, you will need to order a wider/larger shower curtain to ensure complete coverage.  (We recommend an additional 3” on either side, but you can order more for a fuller width.)

One option for stall width shower curtains is to order our Dobie fabric.  It’s what most hotels order, and it’s great because it’s waterproof, and an industry leader. Another option is to order our vinyl.  The 10 gauge Pebble is our top-selling plastic curtain.  In either case, no shower curtain liner is required, however, you can hang an additional decorative stall curtain on the outside.

We know of several very happy customers who’ve been selling our stall width shower curtains in their catalog for many years, and we’ve seen them in gyms and universities all over the country.  People always remark on how happy they are they’ve finally found a manufacturer who can get the size right for their stall!

In case you’re wondering, our minimum commercial order is 12 curtains, but if you need just one stall size curtain, you may order that too.  They just cost a little more. 8. Cleaning Tips for Our Heavy Duty Vinyl Table Covers

Comments Off on Cleaning Tips for Our Heavy Duty Vinyl Table Covers

We get a lot of requests for information on how to clean and care for our heavy duty vinyl table covers.

We have previously discussed how durable they are, and how they transform a room. Today we thought we’d discuss how to care for them. Proper cleaning our heavy duty vinyl table covers ensures long-lasting use.

Tip #1: Use mild soap and water, not bleach! Using bleach-based products will dry out the plastic/vinyl, so use a grease cutter like Greenworks, Formula 409 or Fantastick.

Tip #2: Use non-abrasive cleaners. Those three cleaners mentioned above are all non-abrasive. Our Supreme heavy-duty vinyl has a prefix finish, which is easily cleaned. It is also oil and mildew resistant, so cleaning it is simple.

Tip #3: For those of you serving delicious ribs, burgers, fries, and other greasy foods, we recommend using a solvent-type cleaner as needed. A solvent is rubbing alcohol which you can buy at the drug-store (isopropyl alcohol). Simply put some on a soft cloth, and wipe over your table surfaces. Dry it with another cloth, and rinse with clean water, and dry.

Tip #4: If your customers accidentally write on the heavy-duty table cover, and you have a pen mark, apply some nail polish remover right away. Just six (6!) rubs will remove the mark. If it doesn’t, the ink has likely set, and may not be capable of being removed. For that reason, we recommend you choose darker color covers, or have all checks signed at the cash register, not the table.

  9. Custom Nylon Dust Covers for Equipment, Fixtures & Other Devices

Comments Off on Custom Nylon Dust Covers for Equipment, Fixtures & Other Devices

Black and Decker needed a custom dust cover for one of their internal departments.

Custom Nylon Dust CoversThe item to be covered was a sample cutter table in their design workroom. Their workroom has a lot of dust, and they wanted to protect the equipment. The table is 10 ft long, 8 ft wide and 3 ft high. It also has a movable piece on the top, which made for an odd shape.

They contacted us with the dimensions of the table and sent along photographs for the pattern to be made. Because it was such a large piece, with many other features, they sent a CAD drawing also. We quoted the job and gave them a couple of material options: including polyester and nylon. They chose the nylon, which is a 210 denier, very strong but light, and has a thin plastic coating that is effective for keeping the dust from getting through the fabric to the equipment underneath.

We added a zipper to one corner, so it could be more easily removed and put back on by one person working in the design workroom. We also used nylon thread for extra strength (rather than cotton.) You can see the final result of their nylon dust cover here.

We can make custom nylon dust covers for almost any type of indoor equipment, fixture or other devices.

For more information on all of the custom covers we produce, contact us today: 1 800 775 0804 or request a quote with us.

  10. Mesh Top Shower Curtains for Commercial Use

Comments Off on Mesh Top Shower Curtains for Commercial Use

We manufacture mesh top shower curtains for commercial use.

The mesh sewn at the top facilitates light and air to pass through the mesh opening.  Some customers order the shower curtain with mesh, AND a clear plastic window, as shown in the photo. Mesh Top Shower Curtains

The mesh at the top of the curtain is 100% nylon and studded with rust-proof grommets every 5.5” for easy hanging.  The mesh is attached to a lower portion of the curtain with a double-needle stitch (2 rows of sewing) for extra strength.

The mesh top may also be ordered with a Velcro (hook and loop) along the top.  This allows for break-way applications and multiple hanging options if using ceiling track.

The lower panel can be made from heavy-duty 10 gauge vinyl, or medium weight 6 gauge.  Select from multiple colors, although most customers choose white or beige.  Vinyl is best for commercial applications, as it is very durable, and contains anti-bacterial properties to retard mildew growth.  Alternately, you may order our super repel polyester which is a water-resistant fabric.

Mesh top shower curtains are ideal for any area with patient monitoring, poor lighting in the stall, or cubicles with ceiling track.  All of our shower curtains are made here in the USA.  If you don’t see what you’re looking for, give us a call: 1 800 775 0804 or request a quote.
