First, let’s cover the sizes of shower stall widths. Remember, the width is the wall to wall dimension, (left to right.) Here are several widths for stall shower openings:

Regardless of the width size, you will need to order a wider/larger shower curtain to ensure complete coverage. (We recommend an additional 3” on either side, but you can order more for a fuller width.)
One option for stall width shower curtains is to order our Dobie fabric. It’s what most hotels order, and it’s great because it’s waterproof, and an industry leader. Another option is to order our vinyl. The 10 gauge Pebble is our top-selling plastic curtain. In either case, no shower curtain liner is required, however, you can hang an additional decorative stall curtain on the outside.
We know of several very happy customers who’ve been selling our stall width shower curtains in their catalog for many years, and we’ve seen them in gyms and universities all over the country. People always remark on how happy they are they’ve finally found a manufacturer who can get the size right for their stall!
In case you’re wondering, our minimum commercial order is 12 curtains, but if you need just one stall size curtain, you may order that too. They just cost a little more. Clear top vinyl shower curtain in vinyl, with mesh header for institutional use.
We manufacture clear top shower curtains in vinyl or fabric for use in all kinds of institutions. Recently we got a call from The Menninger Clinic in Houston. They were looking to replace their shower curtains, with clear tops. It was really important for them to allow for privacy, but still be able to monitor their patients.
Our clear top curtains meet standards of regular shower curtains, but you may customize them depending on the needs of your project:

They requested custom widths which we were able to do. The height is also custom.

We manufacture mesh top shower curtains for commercial use.
The mesh sewn at the top facilitates light and air to pass through the mesh opening. Some customers order the shower curtain with mesh, AND a clear plastic window, as shown in the photo.
The mesh at the top of the curtain is 100% nylon and studded with rust-proof grommets every 5.5” for easy hanging. The mesh is attached to a lower portion of the curtain with a double-needle stitch (2 rows of sewing) for extra strength.
The mesh top may also be ordered with a Velcro (hook and loop) along the top. This allows for break-way applications and multiple hanging options if using ceiling track.
The lower panel can be made from heavy-duty 10 gauge vinyl, or medium weight 6 gauge. Select from multiple colors, although most customers choose white or beige. Vinyl is best for commercial applications, as it is very durable, and contains anti-bacterial properties to retard mildew growth. Alternately, you may order our super repel polyester which is a water-resistant fabric.

Our breakaway curtains can be ordered in any dimensions you require, but most institutions require stall size curtains, 42” wide.
Our breakaway curtains can be manufactured in vinyl, or if suffocation is a concern, we can manufacture them with a mesh portion at the top and/or bottom. Alternately we can manufacture them in fabric (cloth), which is breathable.
If you already have a suicide prevention track in the ceiling, consider our breakaway shower curtain with Velcro tabs. Typically the vertical Velcro tabs hang from the track; they attach to a regular stall size curtain that has a plain strip of Velcro sewn along the top. Each tab hangs 12” apart, and although this makes the shower curtain sag a little, it prevents the curtain from supporting the patient’s weight.
Alternately, you may order strips of Velcro hook, which attach to the ceiling, as shown here in this video. It is a simple and effective way to comply with breakaway shower curtain requirements.
As an added precaution, consider adding a clear window at the top (and/or bottom) of the curtain in clear plastic. We are a wholesale supplier of shower curtains. All of our shower curtains are produced here in the USA, at our manufacturing facility in National City, 4 miles south of beautiful San Diego, California.
One option for our wholesale shower curtains is to order them in PVC vinyl. Our very durable 10 gauge white vinyl shower curtain is our number one selling curtain. All types of customers purchase this wholesale curtain from us: universities, gyms, hospitals, and anyone else from institutions looking for a long-wearing, commercial grade of shower curtain.
Our 10 gauge White Vinyl is also available in Beige. It wipes clean easily, and has a slight embossing on the outside that looks and feels like the skin of an orange. This texture gives it a lightly textured or what’s known as a dimpled look. The texture remains smooth to the touch however.
One of our University customers recently ordered these shower curtains for their college dorms. The Buyer wrote us to say, “We love the quality of these shower curtains. They stay free from mildew, and are holding up very well despite the abuse by our students!” This is because our curtains are designed to combat the assault of germs and bacteria with the aid of special anti-bacterial properties within the textile. All of our commercial shower curtains contain antimicrobial properties to keep mildew at bay.
We have long produced antimicrobial shower curtains. They are used in many commercial settings like gyms, hospitals, hotels, prisons, schools, and more. The antimicrobial properties work to keep things like mold, mildew, fungus, and other bacteria at bay. These shower curtains are sometimes referred to as anti-bacterial also.
Both our 10 gauge vinyl (extremely thick) and our 6 gauge vinyl (medium thickness, but still twice as durable as a typical consumer shower curtain,) contain anti-microbial properties and FR. Both are available in white and beige, the best-selling colors for our commercial customers.
The antimicrobial agent is added during the vinyl or plastic production process. The plastic film often receives a treatment of fire retardant or FR too. Plastic ( or PVC) is naturally fire-resistant, however – essentially once the source of the flame is removed, the plastic no longer burns. The antimicrobial properties remain there for the life of the curtain, as long as the shower curtain is in a cool, ventilated environment.
Our shower curtains are hemmed all around, with reinforced brass nickel-plated grommets at the top for no rust. We can produce whatever size you need. For best results, and the least amount of bacterial build-up, we recommend you order our vinyl curtains with no hems. This means less place for bacteria to hide in tiny crevices.
